Liturgies of the Month of May

On Sunday, May 20, 2012, we will hold our semi-annual General Assembly immediately after the Divine Liturgy. At this gathering, we will have the opportunity to hear reports on the progress of all the undertakings of our parish and to discuss the needs of our community. Most importantly, we will be discussing details regarding our Grecian Festival which will take place on June 13-17, 2012.
Needless to say, your presence at this meeting is very important for it gives you the opportunity to learn about the various endeavors of the community. It also affords you the chance to share with those present, your thoughts and opinions on the future of Zoodohos Peghe. We look forward to seeing you at the assembly. If you have not paid your membership, please make sure you do so prior to the day of the Assembly. According to the Archdiocese Uniform Parish Regulations, only paid members of the Church can make motions and vote.
During the Z.P. Grecian Festival, our people, whether they are doctors or tailors, teachers or housekeepers, take the time to serve our guests in this event.
As you all know, the success of our Festival depends largely on the reputation of our wonderful cooks. In order to be sure of consistency in the quality and appearance of our dishes and pastries, all the food is prepared in our own kitchens. Obviously we need a great deal of help – both male and female.
Work has already begun on our festival. The Committees are ironing the details. Please watch for notices, especially volunteer recruitment forms. Please get these in early. Time is needed to plan worksheets.
If you would like to be part of this effort, please let us know as soon as possible. Experience is not necessary. Either fill out the volunteer forms or call the office (718) 823-2030. And take it from the “experienced” festival workers, we have fun when we are working together. We hope you will join us. Remember, we need YOU!
